Elon Musk Welcomes New Baby with Shivon Zilis: Details Revealed

Elon Musk and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis joyfully welcomed a new addition to their family earlier this year, a fact that was only recently brought to the public’s attention through media reports. Elon Musk, in response to the public’s curiosity, clarified to Page Six that their baby’s arrival was never intended to be a secret. He emphasized that their friends and family were well aware, dismissing the idea of a press release as unnecessary.

The baby, whose name and gender remain undisclosed, is Elon Musk’s 12th child and his third with Shivon Zilis, who works at his brain implant company, Neuralink. The birth was initially revealed in a Bloomberg article titled ‘Elon Wants You to Have More Babies,’ which also highlighted Musk’s concerns over declining birth rates. The mention of Neuralink in the context of the birth rates issue is significant because it underscores the importance of the topic to Musk and his work.

Shivon Zilis did not comment on the Bloomberg story, and Elon Musk did not respond to inquiries about the newborn then. Previously, Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis welcomed twins Strider and Azure in November 2021. They were born just a month before Elon Musk’s daughter, Exa Dark Siderael, with alt-pop singer Grimes, who was born via surrogacy. This means that Elon Musk has three children with Shivon Zilis and three with Grimes, making the newborn his 12th child in total.

In September 2023, Grimes, the mother of three of Elon Musk’s children, discussed their co-parenting relationship in a post on X, emphasizing the unity and respect between her, Elon Musk, and Shivon Zilis. She requested privacy for their children and mentioned that they quietly welcomed a third baby, a son named Techno, shortly after Elon Musk had children with Shivon Zilis. Grimes and Shivon Zilis have plans for their children to grow up together as friends, ensuring a harmonious family dynamic.

Elon Musk, a passionate advocate for large families, has previously expressed his deep admiration for ‘big families’ and his personal desire to have as many children as he can actively be involved with as a father. His concerns about declining birth rates, a topic he feels strongly about, are not new. He has taken to social media to discuss the risks associated with population decline, stressing the importance of maintaining birth rates above the replacement level of 2.1 children per woman.

Recently, Musk reiterated his concerns, pointing out that many countries are already below the replacement rate and predicting further declines. He stressed the need to sustain population levels for the stability of civilization. The issue of declining birth rates is a global concern, with implications for various aspects of society, including the economy, healthcare, and social welfare. Musk’s views on this issue are therefore not just personal but also reflect his broader societal concerns.
