Actor Nivin Pauly and Producer AK Sunil Face Sexual Assault Allegations Amid Industry Scandal
On Tuesday, September 3, Kerala police filed grave charges against actor Nivin Pauly, Malayalam film producer AK Sunil, and four others following a woman’s complaint of sexual assault. The Oonnukal police in Ernakulam confirmed that they have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 376, which pertains to rape, underscoring the severity of the allegations.
Nivin Pauly, who is named as the sixth accused in the case, has vehemently and categorically denied the allegations. In a statement, he called the claims “baseless” and expressed his intention to clear his name, stating, “I have come across a false news report accusing me of abusing a girl. Please know that this is entirely untrue. I’m determined to go to any extent to prove these allegations are baseless and will take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to light. I appreciate your concern. The rest will be handled legally.”
The complaint, which was lodged with Ernakulam Rural Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Saxena, alleges that the woman was promised a film role and was invited to Dubai in November 2023.
