Jammu and Kashmir Terror Attack: Defence Officials Vow Justice for Slain Soldiers

Five soldiers were tragically killed in a terrorist attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, yesterday. The Defence Secretary, Giridhar Aramane, expressed deep sorrow for their families and assured them their sacrifice would be avenged. He emphasized the government’s unwavering determination that India will not let the perpetrators behind such attacks go unpunished.

The attack occurred when terrorists ambushed an Army patrol in the remote Machedi area, using grenades and gunfire against an Army truck. The terrorists fled into the forest, and a search operation is underway to find them. The group claiming responsibility is Kashmir Tigers, linked to the banned Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

This incident marks the second attack on the Army in two days amidst a recent increase in terrorist activities in the region. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed deep sorrow over the soldiers’ deaths and assured that counter-terrorist operations are actively pursuing peace and order.

The nation mourns the loss of these brave soldiers and stands in solidarity with their families during this difficult time. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities, as we all have a role to play in ensuring our nation’s security.
