Kolkata Doctor Murder: CBI Scrutinizes Hospital and Cover-Up Claims

The father of the doctor who was tragically raped and murdered last week at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata has expressed his deep concern over the circumstances surrounding her death. He revealed that his daughter, on duty in the outpatient department (OPD), had last spoken to her mother around 11:15 PM. Despite being on call, she wasn’t contacted for seven hours between 3 AM and 10 AM, which he finds alarming.

He pointed out that despite her being on duty, no one needed her help during those critical hours. The father, who supports the ongoing protests and has been in touch with CBI officials, believes that several interns and physicians from the hospital might be involved in his daughter’s murder. He and his wife have provided the CBI with the suspects’ names, and the agency is now questioning these individuals, along with Kolkata Police officers who were part of the initial investigation. The whole nation wants justice for the Kolkata doctor murder.

The CBI is also questioning former hospital principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh, who resigned shortly after the body was discovered and had expressed concerns for his safety. As part of the investigation, CBI officers conducted a crime scene reconstruction and 3D tracking at the hospital’s seminar hall, where the doctor’s body was found on August 9. A civic volunteer was arrested the following day in connection with the case.

The West Bengal Doctors’ Forum has raised concerns about recent reconstruction work at the crime scene, fearing it might compromise the investigation by tampering with evidence. They have urged the CBI to handle the matter with great care to ensure justice for the victim.

The CBI has taken over the investigation, and a specialized medical and forensic team has been sent from Delhi to assist. According to the autopsy report, the doctor was sexually assaulted before being murdered, with severe injuries indicating “perverted sexuality” and “genital torture.”

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is currently the chief minister and health minister, and many departments are in her control. In her view, this incident takes place, and her goons only attacked the doctors who were protesting silently and tampered with the evidence. We, as a media agency, strongly condemn this act and our in support of the doctor Maumita Debnath who was killed and raped.
