Despite his age, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud is showing remarkable resilience as he undergoes lung inflammation treatment. The 88-year-old monarch, diagnosed after medical tests, is receiving antibiotics in Jeddah, according to the Saudi news agency SPA.
Given the significance of his father’s health condition, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has made the decision to postpone his trip to Japan. The Japanese Foreign Ministry has announced plans to reschedule the visit for a later date.
During a high-level meeting in Dhahran, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan delved into a range of pressing regional developments. These included the Gaza conflict, the urgent need to halt the war, and the exploration of a credible path toward a two-state solution, as reported by SPA.
King Salman has had previous health issues, including surgery in 2020 to remove his gallbladder. He has been the King of Saudi Arabia since 2015, following the death of King Abdullah. In 2017, King Salman appointed his son, Mohammed bin Salman, as Crown Prince, replacing Mohammed bin Nayef.
