Selection Process: The selection process for SBI PO 2024 consists of three phases:

  1. Prelims: An objective test where candidates are shortlisted for the Mains exam.
  2. Mains: A mix of objective and descriptive questions. Candidates who perform well are shortlisted for the next phase.
  3. Psychometric Test, Interview, & Group Exercise: This phase is designed to evaluate the candidates’ mental and emotional suitability for the role of a Probationary Officer. The Psychometric Test assesses your personality traits and behavioral patterns, while the Interview and Group Exercise evaluate your communication skills, leadership potential, and ability to work in a team. Final selection is based on combined scores from the Mains and this phase. Prelims scores are not considered in the final merit list.

Syllabus:

The syllabus includes Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and General/Financial Awareness, similar to other banking exams but at a higher difficulty level.

Exam Pattern:

  • Prelims: 100 marks in 1 hour, with three sections (each section to be completed in 20 minutes). For each correct answer, you will be awarded one mark. However, there’s a 0.25-mark penalty for each wrong answer. This means that one mark will be deducted from your total score for every four incorrect answers.
  • Mains: 200 marks for the objective test and 50 for the descriptive test. The descriptive test follows immediately after the objective test, and answers must be typed on a computer. There’s a penalty for incorrect answers, with 1/4th of the marks for each wrong answer deducted.
