Shiv Sena Leader’s Son Missing After Worli Hit-and-Run Tragedy: Full Details

Mihir Shah, a 24-year-old, is currently missing following a heart-wrenching hit-and-run incident in Worli. He is the son of a prominent Shiv Sena leader. The accident occurred when a speeding BMW, allegedly driven by Mihir, collided with a scooter, resulting in the untimely death of a 45-year-old woman named Kaveri Nakhawa. Her husband, Pradeep, was also injured in the crash.

In response to the incident, six dedicated police teams are actively and tirelessly searching for Mihir. His father, Rajesh Shah, a deputy leader of Shiv Sena in Palghar district, along with his driver, has been arrested. This action follows Rajesh Shah’s alleged lack of cooperation during the investigation.

Mihir Shah reportedly had drinks at a bar in Juhu before the accident. He then took the wheel of the BMW in Worli, where the collision occurred with the Nakhawas, who was returning home from Sassoon Dock. Tragically, Kaveri Nakhawa lost her life after being hit and dragged by the BMW.

Following the incident, Mihir Shah contacted his father to inform him of what had happened but has since been unreachable. A lookout circular was issued for him, and police found his residence locked, with no information about the whereabouts of his mother and sister.

The case has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code) for offenses including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash driving, and destruction of evidence. Provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act have also been invoked.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed regret over the incident and assured that strict legal action will be taken. He emphasized that everyone, regardless of status, is equal before the law.

The victim’s husband, Pradeep, spoke emotionally to the media, expressing concern for his future as he faces the loss of his wife. He voiced worries about receiving justice, given the involvement of influential people.
Aaditya Thackeray from the Shiv Sena’s faction, led by Uddhav Thackeray, visited the Worli police station to demand swift action in capturing Mihir Shah and justice for the victims. He emphasized that political affiliations should not interfere with legal proceedings, echoing the sentiment of the entire community.

This incident is similar to another recent hit-and-run involving a Porsche in Pune, which had similar tragic consequences. The Pune case also involved influential individuals attempting to tamper with evidence, leading to arrests.
