Silent Killer in Georgia- 12 Indians Dead in Carbon Monoxide Tragedy
In a tragic incident in Georgia’s Gudauri ski resort, twelve people, including eleven Indian nationals, were found dead at an Indian restaurant where they worked. The Embassy of India in Tbilisi confirmed the news on December 16, offering its deepest condolences to the victims’ families. The embassy is working closely with Georgian authorities to ensure the prompt repatriation of the bodies to India and is providing support to the bereaved families.
The initial investigation suggests that carbon monoxide poisoning is the likely cause of death. On December 14, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs ruled out any signs of violence or physical injuries on the victims. All twelve individuals were found in a resting area on the restaurant’s second floor where they were employed.

Reports indicate that the victims died after inhaling carbon monoxide from a power generator that was placed in a closed indoor space near their bedrooms.
