UPSC Preliminary Exam 2024 Results Announced
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the results for the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations 2024. Candidates who appeared for this highly anticipated exam can now check their results on the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
Exam Overview
The UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations 2024 took place nationwide on June 16 at various examination centers. A staggering 13.4 lakh candidates appeared for the exam in two shifts, covering General Studies (Paper I) and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) (Paper II).
Subjects Covered
General Studies (Paper I) included topics such as Indian polity, geography, history, Indian economy, science and technology, environment and ecology, and international relations. CSAT (Paper II) tested candidates on reasoning and analytical abilities, reading comprehension, and decision-making skills.
Exam Format and Marking
The examination comprised objective-type questions with four options, totaling 400 marks. Successful candidates from the Preliminary stage will now move on to the next phase, the UPSC Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2024, followed by the Interview or Personality Test.

- Click on the “UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Result 2024” link on the homepage.
- Enter your UPSC CSE Roll Number/Registration Number and Date of Birth (DOB).
- Click on “submit” to view your result.
- Verify and download the UPSC CSE Prelims Results 2024.
- Print a copy for future reference.
Passing Criteria
To qualify the UPSC CSE Prelims, candidates must score a minimum of 33% in General Studies Paper II and meet the overall qualifying marks in General Studies Paper I.
Next Steps
According to the UPSC calendar, the Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2024 will be conducted in September 2024. The commission will release the cutoff marks and answer keys after the final results are declared.
