Jr NTR’s Bold Vision: From Devara to Tamil Cinema—‘If Vetri Maaran Calls, I’m In!

In a vibrant Chennai event, Jr NTR celebrated a significant milestone: Devara Part-1 marks his first solo film in six years. This is a significant moment in his career as it signifies his return to a solo lead role after a successful stint in RRR, a global sensation directed by SS Rajamouli. While RRR was a game-changer for Indian cinema on the world stage, it wasn’t a solo venture featuring Ram Charan alongside him.

At the Chennai launch for the Tamil version of Devara, Jr NTR exuded confidence and charm, flanked by the film’s cast and crew, including Janhvi Kapoor, Kalaiyarasan, composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Ratnavelu, art director Sabu Cyril, and director Koratala Siva. The event focused on generating excitement for the Tamil release, highlighting the unique aspects of Devara Part-1 that set it apart from his previous films, and hoping the Tamil audience would embrace it as warmly as they did the Telugu original.

Janhvi Kapoor, making her South debut with Devara Part-1, deeply touched hearts with her Tamil-speaking gratitude. She fondly recalled her late mother, the legendary Sridevi, and sincerely appreciated the Chennai audience’s past affection. Her words were not just a thank you, but a heartfelt expression of how much their love means to her. “Some of my happiest memories with Amma are from Chennai. Your love for her has shaped us, and I hope to earn the same affection,” she shared.

Jr NTR, reflecting on his role in Devara, praised the hard work of everyone involved and hoped the audience would recognize their dedication when the film was released on September 27. He also made a notable comment about the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. “Yes, we are divided by language, but after Baahubali, we are no longer divided by cinema,” he said, receiving a round of applause.

The event took an exciting turn when Jr NTR was asked about possibly starring in a direct Tamil film. Without hesitation, he responded, “If Vetri Maaran sir calls me, I will do a straight Tamil film.”
As the boundaries between regional cinemas continue to blur, and with upcoming projects like War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan, the prospect of Jr NTR in a Tamil film is not just a dream. The cinema world is getting smaller, and opportunities once considered unlikely are now within reach, sparking hope and excitement for the future of Indian cinema.
