Oviya’s Video Leak Actress Fights Back with Legal Action
Oviya, whose real name is Helen Nelson, is a well-known figure in Tamil and Malayalam cinema. She is celebrated for her roles in films like Kalavani, Sillunu Oru Sandhippu, 90 ML, Manushyamrugam, and Kalavani 2. She made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with Yeh Ishq Sarfira, but the film failed to make a mark at the box office.
Her rise to fame began in 2017 when she participated in the inaugural season of Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan. Her romantic involvement with season winner Arav captivated audiences and generated considerable media buzz.
However, Oviya has recently found herself at the center of a severe controversy following the alleged leak of a private video online. While the clip’s authenticity remains uncertain, she has yet to release an official statement. In a bolding response to a social media troll who suggested she share a more extended version of the purported video, Oviya cheekily replied, “Next time, bro.”
On Wednesday, Oviya took legal action by filing a complaint with the Chennai Police against the circulation of fake videos on social media. According to her manager, these videos, falsely claiming to be private scenes of the actress, were maliciously created to tarnish her reputation. The complaint reportedly names a former friend, Thariq, from whom Oviya distanced herself due to his unacceptable behavior. Allegations suggest that he orchestrated the leak of morphed videos as revenge. Her complaint highlights that Thariq possesses other inappropriate videos and images of different women as well.

Born in Thrissur, Kerala, the 33-year-old actress began her career in supporting roles in Kangaroo (2007) and Puthiya Mukham (2009) alongside Prithviraj. As the scandal unfolds, Oviya has yet to address the situation publicly but has previously shown resilience in the face of cyberbullying, standing up against sleazy comments on her social media.
The video emerged on the X platform over the weekend. Some users claim that the woman in the clip bears a shoulder tattoo resembling her, while others call it a deep fake. The drama continues to escalate, keeping fans and followers on edge.
