Key Victories and Leads
- Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won with an impressive margin of over 1.5 lakh votes against Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajai Rai.
- Samajwadi Party:
- The party is leading in 38 constituencies.
- Dimple Yadav has a significant lead over BJP candidate Jayveer Singh.
- Her husband, party chief Akhilesh Yadav, is also ahead against BJP candidate Subrat Pathak.
- In Faizabad (Ayodhya), Awadesh Prasad of SP leads BJP’s Lallu Singh by 9,991 votes.
- In Azamgarh, SP’s Dharmendra Yadav has a lead of 1,61,035 votes over BJP’s Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’.
- In Firozabad, Akshay Yadav, son of SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav, leads against BJP’s Vishwadeep Singh by 89,312 votes.

- Karan Bhushan is leading by 33,727 votes over SP’s Bhagat Ram in Kaiserganj.
- Bhojpuri Star Ravi Kishan secures victory in Gorakhpur constituency.
- Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram):
- Chandrashekhar has won the Nagina seat with a margin of 1,51,473 votes over BJP’s Om Kumar.
Congress Party’s Performance
The Congress has made significant gains in Uttar Pradesh, where it has struggled for the past three decades. The party is leading in seven out of the 17 seats it contested:
- Rae Bareli: Rahul Gandhi has a commanding lead of over three lakh votes.
- Amethi: Congress candidate Kishori Lal Sharma leads by more than one lakh votes over BJP’s Smriti Irani.
- Other Leads: The Congress also leads in Barabanki, Saharanpur, Sitapur, Allahabad, and Amroha.
These trends indicate a notable turnaround for the Congress, which previously only held Rae Bareli and faced significant losses in Amethi.
